‘Do wickets ki wajah se match he palat gya’ – Fans react to an incredible win for CSK against RCB in IPL 2023

Royal Challengers Bangalore faced Chennai Super Kings today at the iconic M Chinnaswamy stadium on Monday. It was believed to be the last blast between the two giant teams which featured both the greats, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and batting maestro Virat Kohli. Home side skipper Faf Du Plessis won the toss and chose to field first. They were given an early wicket with the help of Mohammed Siraj as he removed the in-form Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ajinkya Rahane then joined Kiwi batter Devon Conway to take the innings forward.

Chennai Super Kings were launched into the powerplay by Ajinkya Rahane and his beautiful strokes. After Rahane was defeated by Wanindu Hasaranga, Devon Conway subsequently joined the forces and kept up the assault. However, the slaughter went on as Shivam Dube entered and collaborated with the former, scoring 80 runs for the third wicket in just 37 balls.

Conway was knocked down for 83 off of 45, and Dube then resumed the attack. The Indian lost to Wayne Parnell after scoring 52 runs in 27 balls. Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, and Ravindra Jadeja also entered the game and hit some huge shots, enabling CSK to score 226/6, overall.

How did Royal Challengers Bangalore chase pan out?

Bangalore got off to a very poor start as Virat Kohli was unlucky to get bowled and the team further lost Mahipal Lomror within the first three overs. But any team would bow down to the opposition but not Royal Challengers Bangalore as they counter attacked the opposition bowlers. Glenn Maxwell and Faf Du Plessis joined hands to take the innings forward and scored runs freely. The objective was now well within reach for the hosts, thanks to a spectacular third wicket stand between captain Faf du Plessis as well as Glenn Maxwell. Before Maxwell ultimately collapsed on 76 off 36 balls, the pair hammered the ball into every corner of the ground. In just 61 balls, he and Du Plessis’ partnership scored a staggering 126 runs.

Du Plessis followed him to the pavilion in the very next over as Moeen Ali got him out. Chances looked slim but Dinesh Karthik kept it alive for a while. Then a flurry of wickets meant Chennai were coming out on top in the Southern Derby.
