Pakistan vs New Zealand 2023
‘Ek torture khatam ab doosra shuru hogaa’ – Fans react as Pakistan bowlers struggle to clean New Zealand’s tail
After almost kissing a victory in the first Test, New Zealand came with positive intent in the second Test match. The Blackcaps won the toss and elected to bat first. Their openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham built up a stunning opening partnership of 134 runs before the Pakistan speedster Naseem Shah sent him back in the 35th over of the innings after scoring 71 runs. Conway notched his maiden Test century on Asian soil as he scored a brilliant knock of 122 runs with 16 fours and a six.
The former Kiwi skipper, Kane Williamson was awarded the Man of the Match in the last match for his marvelous innings of 200 but was not able to show his batting skills this time around as he went back to the pavilion early after scoring just 36 runs. He got dismissed to pacer Naseem Shah.

The New Zealand wicketkeeper Tom Blundell also played a fighting knock before getting dismissed early in the morning on Day 2, scoring 51 runs off 108 balls to Abrar Ahmed. The wicketkeeper-batter held the New Zealand innings together with his solid innings at the end of Day 1 as well as in the morning session of Day 2 before getting dismissed.
Pakistan trio of Naseem, Abrar, and Agha Saman Salman grabbed three wickets each and reduced the Blackcaps innings to 345 runs for nine wickets. But then came an outstanding partnership between Kiwi pacer Matt Henry and left-arm spinner Ajaz Pate of 104 runs for the last wicket that took the New Zealand side from 345 to 449 before being bundled out.
Henry scored an unbeaten knock of 68 runs with eight fours and two sixes and, on the other hand, Ajaz scored 35 runs with four boundaries. The last wicket went to Abrar and he finished with a spell of 37-5-149-4.

The partnership was ended at 104 in 149 balls, or 24.5 overs. It was the longest a 10th wicket pair batted against Pakistan since AB de Villiers and Morne Morkel in Abu Dhabi in November 2010, adding 107* in the process. #PAKvNZ #NZvPAK #NZvsPAK
