‘I don’t know what’s in store……’ – Ellyse Perry opens up on verge of playing 300 matches for Australia in 2nd T20I vs India women

Australia’s star cricketer Ellyse Perry is set to make her 300th international appearance for his side during the second T20I game against India women, which is slated to take place on January 7 at DY Patil Sports Academy. Notably, the great all-rounder has opened up about her emotions for playing such games for Australia and also talks about her future plans.

The stylish right-handed batter was asked about playing 400 matches for her side, to which she said she hadn’t planned anything about her career. In addition, the 33-year-old cricketer clarified that she has no plans to retire and is open to playing the games. Moreover, the top-order batter is currently enjoying her time in India and is set to win the upcoming T20I against Harmanpreet Kaur’s side to level up the series.

“I don’t know what’s in store…but if it’s meant to be down the track and I’m still around playing …I’m really open to what happens. I don’t have a set time frame for it. Either way, it doesn’t really matter, it’s just another number. For as long as I can contribute to the team and it’s something I find really motivating and enjoyable, I’d love to be here,” Ellyse Perry said being quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Ellyse Perry recalls her time in India, as they played her one-off Test game and an ODI series and are now currently playing the T20I series against Harmanpreet Kaur-led India. Moreover, the opening batter also talks about a few players who support her in winning the matches.

“It’s a great time for us, of evolution. You’ve seen a lot of that in the way that Phoebe Litchfield has performed in those one-day matches; Annabel Sutherland, her last 12 months. That’s something we’re incredibly conscious of – [to] maintain the success we’ve had, but equally evolve that, to look a little bit different in the way the team plays. The game is moving at such a rapid pace” she added further.
