The England cricket team has announced the squad for the five matches of the Test series against India on December 11, slated to commence from January 25 to March 11. Notably, the England cricket team is currently playing a white-ball format series against the West Indies. On the other hand, Team India is also in South Africa for the multi-format tour, which commenced on December 10.

Notably, England Test skipper Ben Stokes will be leading the side on the India tour. However, the squad has marked the place for new faces with the likes of Rehan Ahmed, Shoaib Bashir, Ben Foakes, and Jack Leach in the upcoming Test series. However, the veteran pacer James Anderson also got a nod after star pacer Stuart Broad had retired.

Meanwhile, England head coach and former cricketer Brendon McCullum expressed his happiness for the upcoming Test series against the hosts India. McCullum feels that the upcoming Test series will be an exciting challenge for the English side, as it will be a great test for their side in Indian soil conditions.

England has got a huge challenge against a very good Indian team in five tests in India: Brendon McCullum

“We have got a huge challenge against a very good India team in five tests played in India. I am excited about it because you want to test yourself against the best side and I genuinely believe that India is the best in their own condition. It is going to be a good challenge for us. If we succeed then fabulous, if we don’t then I know we will go down in the style that we want to go down,” Brendon McCullum said at the RCB Innovation Lab’s Leaders Meet India.
