West Indies vs India 2023
Ex-India Cricketer expects Virat Kohli to score century on Day 3 of Dominica Test against West Indies
India had a dominant outing so far in the ongoing Test match against West Indies at Windsor Park in Dominica. After bowling West Indies out for just 150 runs, the visitors have put themselves in a commendable position to win the Test match as they have already taken a lead of 162 runs in the first innings after scoring 312 runs for the loss of 2 wickets by then end of Day 2.
Day 2 belongs to Yashasvi Jaiswal as he brought up his maiden Test century in his debut Test match. The 21-year-old is unbeaten on 143 runs off 350 balls hitting 14 boundaries. Along with Jaiswal, Virat Kohli is also at the crease by scoring 36 off 99 balls. Both the batters would be looking to give India a big lead to make the Test match one-sided.
‘On Day 3, it’ll be very crucial how he starts because it is not easy for a batter…’ – Pragyan Ojha
As the Indian players will be looking forward to Day 3, Kohli would be aiming to score big. Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha believes that Kohli could his triple-figure mark on Day 3 as he tried to settle on the tricky wicket of Windsor Park.
“Day 2 was out and out Yashasvi’s day, the way he batted and got his maiden Test 100. On Day 3, it’ll be very crucial how he starts because it is not easy for a batter on this kind of a tricky track to come on and take on the bowlers. So, as he gets his eyes in, I am pretty sure that he will look to dominate a few bowlers and raise the scoring rate,” Ojha told JioCinema.
“When we talk about the wicket it’s very tricky and not that easy for a batter to come and get those runs. We saw initially, Virat was trying to settle down. So, I think the longer time he spends in the middle the better the chances of him scoring the runs. The best thing is India has all the time in the world for them to give that little bit of a cushion where Virat can go out and look for that three-figure mark,” he further added.
