KL Rahul finally married his longtime girlfriend and Bollywood actress, Athiya Shetty on 23 January 2023. For this reason, he is not a part of the ongoing home series against New Zealand. However, he will be back in action against Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home.
The ceremony took place in the bride’s father, Sunil Shetty’s farmhouse, in Khandala around 80 km from Mumbai, India. After the marriage, KL Rahul shared some adorable pictures from their marriage with a beautiful caption. Speaking about the earlier tweet from his marriage, KL Rahul wrote: “In your light, I learn how to love…” Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity. With a heart full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness. @theathiyashetty.” Now, while sharing the ‘Haldi’ ceremony pictures, Rahul wrote: “Sukh (Happyness)” with a sunshine emoji.
Such pictures left all fans crazy and stunned as those have gone now viral instantly all over the internet. Meanwhile, the couple has planned for a grand reception in Mumbai during Indian T20 League for Bollywood celebrities and cricketers. After the marriage, It was Suniel Shetty who made the news official to the photographers and media. He announced that he has now become a father-in-law as all rituals are completed.
Speaking about KL Rahul, after missing most of 2022 due to injuries, he made a comeback in the Zimbabwe ODIs. Then, he failed to score big until the Asia Cup. Still, team India showed faith in him and went with him in the events like Asia Cup and the 20-20 World Cup. Then, he took a rest from the New Zealand tour before making a comeback in the Bangladesh tour. He last played in the home ODI series against the Lankans before this break.
