Team India will lock horns against the Netherlands on October 3 for their ODI World Cup 2023 second warm-up game, as their opening game against England was washed out as the rain halted the play. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. will be facing Australia on October 8 in Chennai to commence their journey at the marquee event. As the ODI World Cup returns to India, a plethora of former Indian cricketers have started backing the host team to win the ODI World Cup in 2023.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir feels India’s skipper Rohit Sharma can turn things around and create history after clinching the ODI World Cup 2023 in his name. The well-renowned cricket commentator feels the 36-year-old skipper has a magnificent record in ODIs, especially on home soil, which will boost him.

“The kind of ability he has. India are playing the World Cup at home. We all know about Rohit Sharma’s record at home. He has three or four double hundreds. So I’m sure he will be really looking forward to and he will be eager to turn it around for India,” Gautam Gambhir said on Star Sports.

Moreover, the 2011 World Cup-winning star has praised the 28-year-old’s batting technique.

Notably, the right-handed batter has maintained the top spot in the ODI rankings as well as piled up a great knock against New Zealand during their first warm-up game in Indian home soil conditions. “The kind of technique Babar Azam has, I think he will score three or four centuries for Pakistan in this World Cup.
