WATCH: Australia’s all-rounder Glenn Maxwell caught vaping e-cigarette in dressing room during Australia vs South Africa ODI World Cup match

Published on

Australia great all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was seen smoking in the dressing room following his dismissal against South Africa during the ODI World Cup 2023 clash at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Notably, Glenn Maxwell could not continue his form from the bat; however, he had scalped three wickets against South Africa on October 12. Following his wicket, the RCB stalwart was seen sitting in the dugout and smoking vape.

Notably, this nasty incident occurred during the 20th over when the Aussies were reduced to 80/6 in the play. In addition, middle-order batsman Marnus Labuschagne and left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc were on the crease. As the camera was turning near Australia’s dressing room, the middle-order batter was spotted doing this act. Moreover, the video has gone viral on social media with some hilarious comments.

Meanwhile, the five-time World Champions, Australia, are struggling to get their first win in the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, the Men in Yellow were restricted to just 199 runs against India in their opening game of the marquee event on October 8 in Chennai, whereas the Proteas reduced them to just 177 in their second game, which places them currently in the ninth spot in the points table.

Team India and South Africa beat Australia in the bilateral series just ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023

Interestingly, Team India and South Africa beat Australia in the bilateral series just before the ODI World Cup 2023, and both teams dominated in the big tournament as well. Meanwhile, Australia skipper Pat Cummins expressed his disappointment following their back-to-back loss in the marquee event.

“I thought Quinton (de Kock) batted really well, couldn’t get a breakthrough. From where they were, we were quite happy with 310, thought it was chase able. Looked like hard work out there tonight, their bowlers bowled really well, think it nipped around a bit more under lights. (On if it would’ve been easier to bat first) Really hard to say, if we want to be challenging in this tournament we need to find ways of performing regardless of batting first or second,” Pat Cummins said following the loss against South Africa.
