‘GOAT Franchise’ – Fans react as CSK creates history by becoming first IPL franchise to cross 10 million followers on Twitter

The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) created history by becoming the first franchise to cross 10 million followers on X (formerly known as Twitter). Notably, the MS Dhoni side lifted the IPL trophy for the fifth time during the recently-concluded edition after defeating the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in the final match at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In addition, the recent IPL champions have possessed a substantial following since the tournament’s start. Notably, as the legendary India cricketer MS Dhoni entered the squad in 2008, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have never experienced a lack of support, regardless of whether they were playing at home or away; the fans in yellow were likely seen in every stadium, specifically this season, which was speculated to be MSD’s farewell season.

Notably, the other IPL franchises, namely the Mumbai Indians (8.2 million), Royal Challengers Bangalore (6.8 million), Kolkata Knight Riders (5.2 million), Sunrisers Hyderabad (3.2 million), Punjab Kings (2.9 million), Rajasthan Royals (2.7 million), Delhi Capitals (2.5 million), Lucknow Super Giants (760.4k), and Gujarat Titans (522k), are the teams in order on the list of Twitter followers after the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In addition, the CSK franchise took to Twitter and thanked the spectators for this feat. Notably, this tweet has received around ten thousand likes and over 700 comments in just 24 hours. “Thanks a 10 for the X-treme Yellove and whistles from all around the world,” tweeted CSK.

Moreover, this feat has made the former India skipper not only a legendary cricketer but a great leader as well. In addition, MS Dhoni has won all three major tournaments, namely the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013, and is regarded as one of the most successful captains of all time in the history of cricket.
