Hardik Pandya has developed himself as one of the great all-rounders ever produced by India. However, his bowling has been under the radar ever since his injury a while ago. Now that he has recovered from his prolonged injury, he has been putting himself in difficult positions to bowl.

At a press conference, India’s acting captain Pandya fielded some questions about his bowling. Due to a back injury, the 29-year-old all-rounder spent a significant amount of time exclusively as a batsman in white-ball cricket. Pandya began bowling while leading Gujarat Titans to their first Indian T20 League 2022 championship.

In the first three months of the ODI World Cup year, India’s important bowling all-rounders were called into question as they began a demanding schedule that included six T20Is, nine ODIs, and four Test matches (against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia).

Pandya smashed the first question over the boundaries when asked how he would handle his bowling. He stated that it will be his responsibility as captain to oversee operations. “I shall introduce myself if I feel like it. There shouldn’t be any issues with that,” he said.

Pandya’s opening spell against Sri Lanka in the first T20I of the three-match series, when India was defending a modest total, proved that he was right. Pandya opened the bowling and baffled the Sri Lankan batters while playing on a slow but batting-friendly Wankhede pitch.

The three-match series was eventually won by the Men in Blue 2-1. After winning the first game at the Wankhede in Mumbai, they lost the second one at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. India was able to win the third match thanks to a brilliant century by Suryakumar Yadav in the decisive game.

With senior players returning to the team, India is all set to play the ODI matches against India. The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will host the first of the three games. In this series, Rohit Sharma will serve as the team’s captain once more.
