Rohit Sharma and Co. have reached the final of the Asia Cup 2023. Team India displayed magnificent performances during the play, which made them one of the favourites to win the ongoing marquee event. In addition, one cannot name one or two players who enabled the win, but it was a complete and powerful effort by the team. However, Rohit Sharma’s back-to-back three half-centuries always gave a great start to the team.

Following his solid form in the Asia Cup, the 36-year-old skipper has been receiving praise from experts and former cricketers. Notably, former India cricketer turned analyst Piyush Chawla is one of them who heaps praise on him by calling him a “Big player.” The cricket commentator lauded him for his magnificent form in the Asia Cup. In addition, the former spinner reveals that it’s fun to watch him thanks to his batting skills.

This is the Rohit Sharma we all know: Piyush Chawla

“This is the identity of a big player, just as we approach a big tournament, he comes back into form in some way or the other, and he has shown this at the Asia Cup. This is the Rohit Sharma we all know. He is not trying to hit the ball hard; it’s just lazy elegance. He is focusing on timing the ball, and from the outside, it looks so fun to watch because he makes batting look pretty easy,” Piyush Chawla said on Star Sports.

The 34-year-old cricketer also opens up about the opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, calling this a good sign for Team India as it gave a flying start to the team while also helping middle-order batters. “And these are good signs for Indian cricket because when your openers are giving you a good start, you get a bigger score, and it helps the middle order. And it is very important that when your middle order is good, then if your openers give you a good start, it becomes very good for the team,” he added further.
