After being hit on the helmet by a Mohammed Siraj bouncer on day one of the second Border-Gavaskar Test, David Warner started to act a little “tired”. Mohammed Shami struck Warner twice with longer-angled deliveries, giving him scores of 1, 10, and 15 in the series thus far. The issue of Warner’s method has unavoidably come up and is currently facing tremendous pressure.

On Day 2 of the second Test match between India and Australia in Delhi, Australia were given a severe blow when David Warner was declared to be ineligible due to a concussion. Prior to the start of play on Saturday, Cricket Australia announced that Matt Renshaw has been chosen as his concussion replacement. On Day 1, Warner was batting when Mohammed Siraj hit him with a bouncer; as a result, he did not take part in India’s innings later that day.

Warner’s opening partner Usman Khawaja spoke to the media after the end of Day’s play. He said, “Davey has been such a terrific player for such a long time. Every time his back is against the wall he produces something so we’ll see.”

On the first day of the second Test, the Australians stumbled to 263 on a difficult, but not a dangerous Arun Jaitley Stadium pitch. Khawaja (81) and Handscomb (72*) both batted for more than three hours. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, the experienced spin duo of India, were at their best as they also scalped three wickets each on the opening day.

India is currently in a spot of bother as they have lost four wickets in the first session of Day 2 of the second Test. Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Player of the match from the first Test, Ravindra Jadeja are still at the crease. Nathon Lyon has taken all the wickets for the visitors and looking lethal today and would be hoping for more wickets to add to his tally.
