‘He said one bad word, in return he received 20’ – Kamran Akmal recalls his heated exchange with star India pacer
The cricket matches have witnessed a lot of intense moments, with typical fights on the cricket field. Notably, a match featuring archrivals India and Pakistan back in 2012 witnessed such an incident. Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, former Pakistani cricketer Kamran Akmal recently opened up about his heat exchange moments with former India pacer Ishant Sharma ahead of the Asia Cup 2023.
Notably, the former right-handed batter says the India star bowler abused him during the T20I bilateral series in 2012. In addition, the wicketkeeper batsman admitted that he also used such nasty and creepy words for Ishant Sharma in return. Notably, this incident took place during the first T20I in Bengaluru.
“Ishant abused me. He said one bad word, in return he received 20. I’m honest here. We had our flight to Ahmedabad next day, there was a T20I match. I, Virat (Kohli), Shoaib Malik, Hafeez were sitting. Somebody asked, what exactly happened between you two. Ishant said after bowling, I just said a bad word to him. Everybody said, you deserved it coming!,” Kamran Akmal said during a podcast with Roha Nadym for Cricwick.
But thankfully, Dhoni, the captain cool, then Raina also interfered: Kamran Akmal
Meanwhile, the Lahore-born cricketer thanked legendary skipper MS Dhoni and star all-rounder Suresh Raina for saving the fight; otherwise, he would have been banned from two matches as well as need to pay a hefty price for using creepy words to India pacer Ishant Sharma. In addition, the 41-year-old batter claims that the Indian batters solved the situation by knowing who was at fault. Furthermore, the former Pakistani commentator has called this fight pretty serious.
“It turned out to be serious. But thankfully, Dhoni, the captain cool, then Raina also interfered. They knew who was at fault, so they settled the situation, otherwise it would’ve been worse. I could’ve been banned for two matches, penalized for 5 match fees. It was pretty serious,” he added further.
