With their daughter, Vamika, Virat Kohli, and Anushka Sharma recently went on a visit to the Baba Neem Karoli Ashram in Vrindavan, Mathura. The couple spent an hour at the ashram, where they visited Baba’s samadhi and meditated in his “kutia” (hut).

The families of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have been ardent devotees of Baba Neem Karoli. Baba also has ashrams in Rishikesh, Shimla, Delhi, and Taos (New Mexico, USA) in addition to Vrindavan.

Baba Neem Karoli also known as Neeb Karori Baba has man followers across the globe including some popular celebrities. His devotees call him Maharaj Ji, and he is a Hindu guru. Hanuman, a god in Hinduism, was worshipped by Baba. He was a bhakti yoga practitioner and constantly promoted seva, or service to others, as the pinnacle of unreserved devotion to God.

Lakshaman Narayan Sharma, his birth name, left his prosperous Brahmin family when he was 14 years old and was married in order to live a sadhu’s life. But after being persuaded by his father, he went back to live a settled married life with two sons and a daughter. In 1958, he left his house and got on a train.

But since he did not have a ticket, he had to get off the train at the settlement of “Neem Karoli.” He started out on his pilgrimage in this way. He eventually relocated to his ashram and began to construct a Hanuman Temple.

The most famous Americans who visited India in the 1960s and 1970s were the musicians Krishna Das and Jai Uttal, the spiritual gurus Bhagavan Das and Ram Dass, and Baba Neem Karoli served as their spiritual guide.

After falling into a diabetic coma, Baba Neem Karoli passed away on September 11, 1973, in a hospital in Vrindavan. Additionally, Julia Roberts, Mark Zuckerberg, and Steve Jobs visited the ashram of Baba Neem Karoli.

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, went on a visit to the ashram in Kainchi in 2015. Facebook was going through a difficult period at that moment. It was later discovered that Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, had suggested Zuckerberg to visit the ashram.

Along with his friend Dan Kottke, Steve Jobs also went to the ashram to meet Neem Karoli Baba. He couldn’t meet him though because he passed away before he got there. Julia Roberts is also claimed to have been pulled to Hinduism as a result of Neem Karoli Baba, according to reports.
