Horizon Zero Dawn MMO is finally happening?
After over a year of speculations and rumours, it seems a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game from the Horizon Dawn series is finally under development by NCSoft. A leaker named Kurakasis on X has reported several job listings by an NCSoft employee on LinkedIn for an MMORPG codenamed Project Skyline. The posts also reveal that the game will be released on multiple platforms, including PC and Mobile.
NCSoft, the developers of the popular MMO game Guild Wars 1 and 2 have plenty of experience in game development. The upcoming game does not have a release date or even an official name announcement. The game is also rumoured to be called “Land of Salvation” as Kurakasis wrote, “NCSoft registered a domain for what appears to be a game titled ‘Land of Salvation’ and could potentially be an official title for the Horizon MMO.”
Everything I have found about Horizon MMO (MMORPG to be precise):
The game is now essentially confirmed to be in development, as an NCSoft employee posted a job listing on LinkedIn with a codename logo stylized similarly to the logo of Horizon games.

Check out more revelations
Looking at the information, over 140 people are currently working on the game. Since Sony announced a partnership with NCSoft around two months earlier, it is safe to say that the game might be released sometime in 2025. Initial rumours surfaced back in 2022, soon after Sony acquired Bungie. At the time, Sony also revealed their plans to create three new live service games. Apart from Project Skyline, one is reportedly being developed by Guerrilla Games, the original creator of Horizon Games.
Another live service game that was announced last year by Bungie was the new extraction shooter Marathon. While last year only saw a small teaser, fans of the franchise hope to see an actual gameplay trailer sometime this year.
There are currently a very limited number of MMORPGs, with developers like NCSoft, Project Skyline does seem like a promising title. The added multi-platform support may also help to gain more audience, however, some people are doubtful as mobile releases are usually plagued with microtransactions.
