Everyone will definitely appreciate the efforts which the Indian Women’s Team has shown against the Bangladesh Women’s team. India came into the match as runaway favourites to record a straightforward win after their comprehensive victory in the first T20I.

The Indian side came into the game after winning the series opener in quite a commanding position where they won the game by seven wickets. In the second match, India won the toss and opted to bat first but their batting department failed miserably and the entire team was able to score just 95 runs in their allocated 20 overs.

After scoring just 95, they needed to find early wickets with the ball and the first over from Vastrakar went for 10. But India fought back, taking wickets to reduce Bangladesh to 30-4. Bangladesh’s captain, Nigar Sultana, continued to fight and focused on extending the game. As Bangladesh drew nearer, she held her head high, pushed the singles about, and occasionally scored a boundary.

However, her dismissal in the 19th over gave India the victory. Shafali Verma sealed it off with three wickets in the final over, which required 10. India will not be pleased with their performance, however; they played poorly with the bat and dropped catches in the field. In addition to it, the inexperienced Bangladeshi lineup also helped the team to a larger extent and they managed to scrape through.

Here is how Twitter reacted to this splendid effort from the Indian Women’s Team;

With this victory, India also went on to seal the series by a scoreline of 2-0 with one more game yet to be played in the series. The star India all-rounder Deepti Sharma was awarded the Player of the Match award for her terrific bowling effort. The right-arm off-spinner ended the match with an astonishing figure of 3/12 in his entire quota of four overs. Sharma through his bowling effort also took the wicket of Nigar Sultana who was batting well on 38 runs.
