‘I am 100 percent sure that…..’ – Former India cricketer’s strong take on Suryakumar Yadav’s spot in ODI World Cup

India star batter Suryakumar Yadav once again displayed his magnificent knock during the third T20I match against West Indies, as the right-handed batter hammered 83 runs from just 44 balls, featuring 10 boundaries and four sixes, with a solid strike rate of 189 to help India win the third T20I match against Powell’s side.

Notably, after his stellar knock in the previous game, the 32-year-old swashbuckling batter has been getting support from cricket experts to get into the upcoming ODI World Cup squad despite his poor performances in 50-over formats. Speaking on the same subject, former India cricketer MSK Prasad feels that Suryakumar Yadav will definitely get a place in the upcoming World Cup.

In addition, the former India selector believes that Suryakumar Yadav will be the biggest match-winner and the top finisher in the ODI World Cup.

“I am 100 per cent sure that Suryakumar will go to the World Cup. If someone can be a No. 1 player in the T20 format, it means he has special talent which we have seen in the T20Is that he has played for the country and in the IPL. We know about his ability to soak in pressure. I am sure he will be one of the biggest match-winners and the best finisher for India in the World Cup,” MSK Prasad said on India Today.

Moreover, the former batter also lauded head coach Rahul Dravid and India skipper Rohit Sharma, as they have given role clarity to India’s batting star. Furthermore, the 48-year-old cricketer feels that Suryakumar Yadav enjoys the finishing role the most.

“What Rohit and Dravid have now done is fantastic, probably they have given him role clarity. That will definitely help him because that (the finisher’s role) is the situation he enjoys the most. I am sure that would be a huge relief to Suryakumar and he can also start planning accordingly,” he added further.
