Team India is still looking for their first major title after the 2013 Champions Trophy that the Men in Blue clinched under the captaincy of legendary cricketer MS Dhoni. Notably, most of the time, Team India has ended their campaign in the semi-final and the final stages during the major tournaments. In addition, during the last Asia Cup and World Cup, Rohit Sharma’s side suffered a big blow owing to poor bowling performances as the team suffered due to the absence of lethal pacer Jasprit Bumrah owing to a back injury.

Moreover, India head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma have said in a plethora of interviews that they missed Jasprit Bumrah in big tournaments. Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has said that he doesn’t take anyone’s opinion seriously. In addition, the 29-year-old cricketer affirms he doesn’t want to feel the unnecessarily heavy pressure on him.

If others are expecting, it’s their problem, not mine: Jasprit Bumrah

Notably, the right arm pacer has clearly said that he is coming back with the minimum expectations, and if somebody’s expecting him, that’s their problem, not his. Furthermore, the great seamer also reveals that at this time he just wants to enjoy the game and isn’t thinking of contributing much to the team.

“I respect their opinion but irrespective they are good or bad, I don’t take anyone’s opinion seriously. I don’t want to put myself under pressure. I don’t put unnecessary expectations on me. I am coming back after a long time, I want to enjoy it now. I’m not thinking that I have to contribute a lot or I will change everything. I’m coming with minimal expectations. If others are expecting, it’s their problem, not mine,” Jasprit Bumrah said ahead of the first T20I against Ireland. Meanwhile, the star pacer will be seen in action against Ireland on August 18 after a gap of 11 months, enforced by a stress fracture to his back.
