‘Koi nahi hai takkar mein’ – Fans react as India beat England by 100 runs, extends winning streak to six in ODI World Cup 2023
Team India thrashed defending champions England during their sixth game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on Sunday, October 29, at Ekana Sports City in Lucknow. Notably, the Men in Blue is the only team in the marquee event that is currently undefeated in the tournament so far and places themselves at the top spot in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.
Speaking about the game here, it was England skipper Jos Buttler who won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first in the play. Notably, after being sent to bat first, they had a terrible start as top-order batsman Shubman Gill was departed for just 16 runs while India’s batting legend Virat Kohli was out for the duck against England.
However, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul stitched over the great stand that boosted their middle order and top order. The 36-year-old skipper smashed 87 runs from 101 balls, scoring 10 boundaries and three sixes, while KL Rahul piled up 39 runs. Later, Mumbai Indians star Suryakumar Yadav gets 49 runs, which helped them post a decent total against Jos Buttler and Co.

Meanwhile, during the chase, England had an awful start to their innings as David Malan was sent back after scoring 16 runs while star batsmen Joe Root and Ben Stokes were out for the duck. Following that, England skipper Jos Buttler could only get 10 runs. However, star all-rounders Moen Ali and Liam Livingstone were looking great but departed after scoring 15 and 27 runs, respectively, against a strong pace attack.
Later, no batmen from the English team could stand for his side and faltered for just 129 runs, giving India a massive 100-run win. However, India’s star pacer Mohammed Shami showed his form as he got four wickets while Jasprit Bumrah scalped three wickets. In addition, great spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja also get two and one wickets each.
