‘King aayega or khelega’ – Fans react as India Team arrive in Thiruvananthapuram for ODI World Cup 2023 warm-up game without Virat Kohli

Published on

Team India is all set to lock horns against the Netherlands on October 3 for their second warm-up game set to take place in Thiruvananthapuram. Notably, the team has arrived in the city where India’s stalwart Virat Kohli was seen missing once they landed at the airport for their next warm-up match after their first match against England was washed out as the rain halted the play.

According to Sources, former India skipper Virat Kohli is likely to join the team soon, as he flew to Mumbai due to a personal emergency. Just a day ago, some speculations were going around that his wife Anushka Sharma is pregnant for the second time, and both stars are set to welcome another baby after their daughter Vamika, who was born on January 11, 2021.

However, there is no official announcement of this news from any of the couple, but rumours were supposed to be true as they were spotted together in a maternity clinic. Notably, India’s star batter Virat Kohli is likely to play all the matches, including the warm-up fixture for the ODI World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, India’s coaching staff, including head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma, were seen arriving at the team hotel, where they received a tremendous reception. There were no signs of stylish right-handed batter Virat Kohli, which led to speculation that he might miss the clash against the Netherlands. However, an Indian Cricket Board official confirmed that the RCB batter is likely to join the squad ahead of the warm-up game.

Notably, the first match of India vs. England was called off as the rain halted the play after the toss in Guwahati. There is a strong possibility for yet another rain in their next match as well. However, such an instance will be the biggest disadvantage for Rohit Sharma and Co., who are set to start their ODI World Cup campaign on October 8, where they will be facing Australia in Chennai.
