The stage is all set for the final match of the Asia Cup 2023 between India and Sri Lanka, which is all set to take place on September 17 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Notably, both teams have finished in the top two spots in the Super Fours, which helped them mark their way into the final of the Asia Cup 2023. Meanwhile, Pakistan and Bangladesh are out of the tournament and have ended their journey in the Asia Cup 2023 owing to two losses out of the three games in the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2023.

Earlier, the Nepal and Afghanistan teams had already ended their journey ahead of the Super Fours after suffering two losses in the group stages. Notably, Team India was the first team to book their spot in the finals. However, they suffered a shocking six-run defeat against Bangladesh on September 15. Dasun Shanaka’s side reached the final after defeating Babar Azam and Co. on September 14 in their must-win encounter by two wickets.

Details about the weather forecast for the Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo

Speaking about the weather conditions ahead of the final, it was reported that the sun is shining and there has been no rain in Colombo since the morning. However, the MET department suggests that there are 50% chance of rain in the play, and full 100-over action is very unlikely.

Notably, Team India’s mostly rain-halted matches were against Nepal and Pakistan in the group stage and Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Super Fours, whereas fans would be eager to see a full-action match like September 15 when Rohit Sharma and Co. locked horns against Bangladesh, which was not interrupted by rain in Colombo.

However, like the India vs. Pakistan reserve day, the ACC has given September 18 as the reserve day for the final match. Notably, if the rain plays spoilsport on the reserve day as well, India and Sri Lanka will be the joint winners of the Asia Cup 2023.
