Indian Women Hockey Team secures resounding 4-0 victory over Japan to lift Asian Champions Trophy 2023

The Indian Women’s Hockey Team beat the defending champions, Japan, by 4-0 in a thrilling final match at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi that allowed them to secure the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy in Ranchi 2023 on November 5. Notably, India now holds an amazing two Women’s Asian Champions Trophy crowns following this victory.

Speaking about the game here, Lalremsiami (57′), Vandana Katariya (60′), Neha (46′), and Sangita Kumari (17′) scored the four fantastic goals that guided them to a magnificent win over a strong Japanese side in the showdown.

Meanwhile, according to recent reports, as a reward for their outstanding effort that included capturing the title and remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament, Hockey India revealed that each player of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team would be given Rs 3.00 lakhs, whereas each member of the support staff would receive Rs 1.50 lakhs.

Notably, this is not the first time they are giving prize money to girls after the win. After the championship games and previous matches, Hockey President Dilip Tirkey announced a price for the Indian Women’s Hockey Team that can motivate and push them to continue the great momentum to make the nation proud.

Indian Women’s Hockey Team similarly initiated a forceful strategy against Japan in the showdown

Similar to their last encounter with Japan in the pool stage, the Indian Women’s Hockey Team similarly initiated a forceful strategy right on, putting constant pressure on the defending champions in an attempt to shock them. Notably, India’s vice captain Deepika positioned herself successfully to give the hosts an early lead, but Japan’s custodian, Eika Nakamura, saved her shot. It looked like a promising attack. However, the hosts held their nerves to win the game in the showdown.

Meanwhile, following the great win, a plethora of ministers took to social media and congratulated the Indian Team for their flabbergasting win and their outstanding efforts to demolish Japan on November 5 to win the great title and bring glory to the nation.
