Notably, the top-order batter is an imperative player for hosts in the semi-final game, where he is expected to do most of the damage against Kiwis bowlers to help India win the title.

The 35-year-old cricketer struck out 100 against Bangladesh, as well as equaling Master Blaster’s ODI century record, on his birthday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
