‘Influencer cannot influence his team to win’ – Fans react as Al-Nassr start Saudi Pro League 2023 with two consecutive losses

Al-Nassr have not had a great start to their campaign in the Saudi Pro League 2023, as the team with huge star players have lost the second match in a row in the season. Al-Taawoun captured the crucial moments of the game and focused on goal-scoring. As a result, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team suffered their second loss in the tournament and are placed 15th in the table.  

Al-Nassr fired 24 shots compared to 8 from Al-Taawoun. Ronaldo’s team had 5 shots on target compared top 6 from Al-Taawoun. The possession rate of Al-Nassr was 61% compared to 39% of Al-Taaawoun. Ronaldo’s team had a better pass accuracy (88%) than their opponents (81%). The number of passes of Al-Nassr (574) was more than that of Al-Taawoun (387).  

Ronaldo’s team had only 8 fouls compared to 14 of Al-Taawoun. Both teams witnessed 2 yellow cards and no red cards. In almost every aspect of the game, Al-Nassr was ahead. Unfortunately, Ronaldo’s team could not convert chances into goals, which was done efficiently by Al-Taawoun not once, but twice in the game. It ensured the loss of Al-Nassr and destroyed their Goal difference further.  

Second loss in a row for Cristiano Ronaldo’s team

In the 20th minute of the game, Tawamba scored for Al-Taawoun and gave the early lead. It stayed the same till the dying moments of the game. In the 6th minute of the extra time, Bahusayn produced the moment of the match and scored a fine goal, which sealed the match for Al-Taawoun. With 2 wins on a trot, Al-Taawoun reached the fourth spot in the points table.  

In the first match of the season, Al-Nassr lost to Al-Ettifaq despite scoring a goal in the fourth minute of the match. Quaison’s goal in the 47th minute of the game and Dembele’s goal in the 53rd minute of the game ensured the loss of Al-Nassr. Even in the first match, Al-Nassr had control of the game for the most part, barring the start of the second half of the match.
