‘Inki ego hurt ho gayi’ – Fans react as Matthew Hayden hits out at Ollie Robinson, calls him a ‘forgettable cricketer’
Former Australian Cricketer Matthew Hayden feels that Australian team can learn a lot of things from England despite winning the first match of Ashes 2023 against them. Notably, the visitors registered a thrilling 2-wicket victory on the final day of the first Test match of the series at the Edgbaston stadium in Birmingham.
The former cricketer pointed out at the England pacer Ollie Robinson that the Australian batter could look to attack him in the upcoming Test match at Lords. He also acknowledged England’s Bazball approach and suggested Australia to use the same in their batting in the rest of the matches.
“They (England) will only know one way to play now. Stokes really said it in his press conference as well. ‘Look, we didn’t get that result but that’s not going to stop the way that we want to go about our business’. In fact, I reckon Australian cricket can learn a bit from it (BazBall),” Hayden said on SENQ Breakfast.
“As soon as Pat Cummins started coming at Joe Root and hit a couple of sixes. Then the other bloke (Ollie Robinson), he’s a forgettable cricketer. A fast bowler that is bowling 124 (kph) nude nuts and he’s got a mouth from the south,” he further added.
Australia registered thrilling victory on Day 5
Talking about the match, England declared their first innings on 393 runs for hte loss of 8 wickets. Joe Root was the top scorer with 118 runs off 152 balls. In reply Australia were bowled out for 386 runs, powered by Usman Khawaja’s knock of 141 runs off 321 balls giving trialing by just 7 runs in the first innings.
Coming to bat in the second innings, England were bowled out for 273 runs due to handful knocks by Root, Harry Brook and the skipper Ben Stokes. After that, there was a tough fight between both teams when Australia were chasing the target. The ivsitores were taking the score further while England were taking wickets at regular wickets. After that, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon put up an unbeaten partnership of 55 runs for the ninth wicket and gave Australia a thrilling victory.

I am fine with Robinson though . He sometimes bowls very very unplayable balls . I think at Lords they should bring Woakes and Wood for Robinson and Jimmy . Wood can easily clean the tail compared to these as Wood as White ball experience and know to take Tail wickets

Aggresion of a 150+ km/ph bowler but actual pace of skiddy spinner. Doubt theres much of a difference in pace between Ollie and Rashid khan or what Afridi used to bowl.
