Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024; Quarterfinals results
The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Katowice 2024 is now in its final few laps, with only four teams left out of six in the Playoffs. FaZe Clan and Team Falcons, have defeated their opponents in the Quarterfinals.
Both teams will now move to the semifinals, with FaZe and Falcons facing MOUZ and Team Spirit, who have secured a direct spot to the semifinals through group stages.
G2 faces defeat by the Faze Clan
In terms of skill, both G2 and Faze can be equally matched. However, this time, G2 did not get a chance to clap back and faced a crushing defeat at the hands of Faze.
Starting with G2’s map pick on Inferno, the teams have started a great opening with a 4-1 scoreline. After that, Faze made a comeback and the team fell apart after each round. G2 only managed to secure one more round after that in the first half, ultimately leading to a 13-9 defeat.
The second map was Ancient, picked by the Faze clan. As expected on their map pick, Faze dominated G2 on their map, ending the game with a 13-6 scoreline and G2’s dream of winning IEM Katowice.
Team Falcons and ENCE lock horns
Both Falcons and ENCE provided an intense match that fans were waiting for, with none of the teams ready to give up. However, with the match going to the decider map, Team Falcons managed to clutch the game before overtime.
The first map in the series was Mirage by Team Falcons, who wiped the floor with ENCE with a 13-5 victory. ENCE however, was ready to return the favour in the second map of their pick, Overpass with a 13-9 victory.
This led to the final map in Nuke that started with Team Falcons dominating. Unknown to them, ENCE was not ready to give up and made a huge comeback leading to overtime. With the cash back on hand, Team Falcons finally put a stop to ENCE with a 13-11 victory.
