IPL 2023: 5 Players to watch out for from LSG vs SRH
The Lucknow Super Giants will play their 3rd match of the Indian Premier League 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 7 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The KL Rahul-led side won their opening match but lost the second match against Chennai Super Kings.
On the other hand, SRH will be playing their second match of the season and will look to open their winning account as they suffered a loss in the first match against Rajasthan. Here, we will take a look at 5 players to watch for from LSG vs SRH.
1. Kyle Mayers
LSG’s latest edition in the team, the Caribbean superpower, Kyle Mayers, is doing wonders for the while opening. Despite their captain Rahul’s bad performance, Mayers continued to make an impact with his brutal batting. He played a match-winning knock of 73 runs off just 38 deliveries in the first match and announced his arrival in the IPL.
2. Mark Wood
England’s speedster is currently on the top of the leaderboard of most wickets in the current season. He has picked up 8 wickets in just 2 games, including a fifer as well. However, he was pretty expensive in the second match against CSK where he got hit by MS Dhoni for two consecutive sixes in the last over of the first innings. He will definitely look to come back stronger against SRH.
3. Aiden Markram
The South African allrounder is having a great year till now, winning the inaugural season of the SA20 League. And it’s also a big relief for SRH as their regular captain will now be leading the team. With his brilliant leadership skills, Markram will also serve as an extraordinary allrounder.
4. Umran Malik
Umran Malik is probably the fastest Indian bowler right now. With his brilliant ability to clock 150KPH speed effortlessly, he will be a big threat to LSG batters. Umran’s performance was not up to the mark in the first match as he picked up a wicket while conceding 32 runs in 3 overs. He will definitely look to redeem himself against LSG.
5. Nicholas Pooran
West Indies allrounder Nicholas Pooran has strengthened the middle order of LSG. His ability to hit huge sixes with ease has made other LSG batters play their natural game. In the second match, Pooran was looking good and it seemed that he would pull off a miracle and take his side to the second win but that didn’t happen. But it’d be interesting to see if LSG will continue to play with Pooran or if they will replace him with Quinton de Kock.
