Out of the 405 players, 273 are Indians and 132 are from other countries, including four from associate countries. There are 119 total capped players, 282 uncapped players, and 4 players from associate countries.
Let’s have a look at the 4 players from Associate Nations who will be participating in the 2023 Indian T20 League Auction:
-
Karthik Meiyappan – UAE
Karthik Meiyappan is a 22-year-old leg-spinner who recently caught everyone’s attention with his hat-trick against Sri Lanka for the UAE in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Meiyappan was born in Chennai, making him an Indian by birth. The Meiyappan family moved frequently between Chennai, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi over a long period of time. In the end, they chose to move to Dubai, and that was the start of Meiyappan’s career as an international player for the UAE.
-
David Wiese – Namibia
David Wiese, a right-arm bowling all-rounder who left South Africa on a Kolpak contract in 2016–17, helped Namibia advance to the Super 12 round of the 2021 20-20 World Cup. As Namibia defeated everyone in the competition, he won two Player of the Match awards. Following that, the Associate Nation defeated Zimbabwe in a five-match T20I series, thanks to a 48-run and a five-wicket haul.
-
Rubel Trumpelmann – Namibia
Second on the list is left-arm fast bowler Ruben Trumpelmann, who plays for Namibia. Ruben, a native of Durban, has 12 wickets for Namibia in 19 T20 international contests. Because of his ability to swing the ball in the air early in an inning and get bounce off the wicket, he is a particularly potent new ball bowler in the format. His economy in the shortest format is 6.62. He might become a respectable backup player for any franchise.
-
Paul van Meekeren – Netherlands
A right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium bowler named Paul Adriaan van Meekeren plays international cricket for the Netherlands. His only ODI participation to date has been in two games, the first of which was in May 2013. In April 2013, he played in his first Twenty20 International match against Kenya within a month.
