8-fringe players were let gone by Lucknow Super Giants last Sunday. There were some surprises as Deepak Hooda was retained despite his poor IPL 2023 season. Justin Langer will be looking to bring in some new names in a limited budget that he has got.
Let us take a closer look at the top five players Lucknow Super Giants could target during the IPL 2024 mini-auction:
Shivam Mavi –
The 25-year-old was released by Gujarat Titans last Sunday, which was a huge move by the Ahmedabad franchise. Shivam Mavi has priced himself at INR 50 Lakhs and could be a huge buy for Lucknow Super Giants during the IPL 2024 Mini Auctions. The right-arm-pacer is a local boy and Shivam Mavi might fancy a move to LSG in a bid to come back to the India team.

The 33-year-old is adept at playing both pace and spin in challenging Indian conditions. The Kiwi is priced at INR 1 Crore and LSG could very well afford to buy him.
Chetan Sakariya –
After an amazing debut season in 2021, Chetan Sakariya was the flavor of Indian Cricket. The left-arm pacer was let go by Delhi Capitals and is now available for INR 50 Lakhs. Lucknow Super Giants will love to have an effective backup who can use variations in the death overs. This is where Chetan Sakariya comes into play during the IPL 2024 mini auctions.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman –
The young spinner from Afghanistan will be a handful on the slow and low Lucknow cricket pitch. Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman has priced himself at INR 2 Crores for the IPL 2024 Auctions. Lucknow Super Giants would like to go all out for the young Afghan and form a potent partnership with Ravi Bishnoi.
Umesh Yadav –
India’s veteran pacer was released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the IPL 2024 Auctions in Dubai. Umesh Yadav may be 36-years-old but he is still a potent weapon with the new ball and can get good swing and seam under lights. KL Rahul will want an experienced pacer that can guide the youngsters and there is no better player than Umesh Yadav.
