‘Isase achcha to hamara gali ka team hai’ – Fans react to Bangladesh’s Asia Cup 2023 squad

The Bangladesh Cricket Team has announced the 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup that is slated to take place on August 30 in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Notably, the team will be led by great all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan in the absence of Tamim Iqbal, who has been ruled out of the upcoming tournament owing to back injuries.

Notably, the star Bangladesh batter Tanzid Hasan Tamim has received his debut call-up following his magnificent performance in the recently concluded ACC Emerging Asia Cup. Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin affirms that the left-handed batter has been brilliant for the past couple of years, and being the attacking opener, the 22-year-old batter could give a good start to the squad in the upcoming Asia Cup.

“Tanzid has been brilliant in the last couple of years and has played tremendously well in the recently concluded Emerging Asia Cup. He is an attacking opener and could put up runs briskly. We have high hopes on him,” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin said.

Notably, the great batter Mohammad Mahmudullah has been excluded from the squad. In addition, the Bangladesh chief selector says that team management has decided on the roaster by keeping the future terms in mind, and this is the reason the 37-year-old batter misses out.

“There was long discussion regarding Mahmudullah. Team management has given a future plan. So considering all the factors, we have to exclude Mahmudullah,” Abdein added further.
