‘Isko kehte hai ek tarfa harana’ – Fans react as Pakistan win Test series 2-0 in Sri Lanka

Published on

Finally, the agony for the Sri Lankan team have come to an end with the Pakistan team defeating the Sri Lanka team by a massive margin of innings and 222 runs. On the fourth day of the second Test match against Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, Pakistan dominated and won magnificently.

Noman Ali, whose stunning bowling performance completely disorganized the Sri Lankan batters, was the day’s hero. Noman took seven wickets with his mesmerizing spin and cunning. With every pitch, whether it had a flight, a change in pace, a spin, or a bounce, he was confusing and teased the batters. The veteran spinner grabbed seven wickets in the second inning, and his outstanding effort helped Pakistan achieve this historic triumph.

Nishan Madhushka was run out in the fourth over of the opening day, which set the tone for Sri Lanka’s problems as they were bowled out for a pitiful 166 in the first innings, to start the game off poorly for them. As Sri Lankan bowlers struggled to establish any sort of rhythm, Pakistan made merry, with Agha Salman scoring a brilliant century and Abdullah Shafique hitting his first double century.

Sri Lanka’s second innings didn’t go any better, as they once more crumbled for 188 runs. The hosts’ nemesis turned out to be Noman Ali, who by himself dismantled their batting order and left them in total chaos. There were even rumblings of a possible ten-wicket haul for Noman at one point, but it was not to be as Naseem Shah chipped in to bowl out the last three batters.

After this humiliating loss, Sri Lanka’s skipper, Dimuth Karunaratne, and the team management will surely have a lot to consider. The performance of the host squad was much below expectations, and they were utterly outmatched and outplayed by the slick Pakistani team. The visitors, on the other hand, will be thrilled with their outstanding start of the World Test Championship 2025 cycle thus far, having amassed a maximum of 24 points.

Let us have a look at how fans have reacted to this defeat from the Sri Lanka side in the hands of the Pakistan team;
