The Ashes 2023
‘Isko sab karne ke baad hi realise hota hai’ – Fans react as Ollie Robinson defends his sweary send off to Usman Khawaja in 1st Test of Ashes 2023
England pacer Ollie Robinson defended his sweary send-off to Australian batter Usman Khawaja after dismissing him in the first innings of the first Test in the Ashes 2023. Notably, Robinson produced a yorker that took out off-stump and ended the innings of the Australian batter who was batting on 141 runs. This led to an emotional celebration by Robinson as he yelled, “F**k off you f***ng prick,” to Khawaja as the latter was heading back to the pavilion.
However, the England pacer was also warned by the umpire for his aggressive behaviour. The 29-year-old took 3 wickets in the first innings and 2 wickets in the second innings. England ended up losing the match as Australia registered a thrilling victory by 2 wickets on Day 5 of the Test match. When Robinson was about this incident at the post-match press conference, he said that aggressive behaviour is common in the Ashes.
“When you’re in the heat of the moment and you have the passion of the Ashes that can happen. I think we’ve all seen Ricky Ponting and other Aussies do the same to us, and just because the boot’s on the other foot it’s not received well,” Robinson said at the press conference.
Australia outplayed England to register a thrilling victory
Talking about the match, England declared their first innings on 393 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Joe Root was the top scorer with 118 runs off 152 balls. In reply, Australia was bowled out for 386 runs, powered by Usman Khawaja’s knock of 141 runs off 321 balls, trailing by just 7 runs in the first innings.
Coming to bat in the second innings, England were bowled out for 273 runs due to handful knocks by Root, Harry Brook and the skipper Ben Stokes. After that, there was a tough fight between both teams when Australia were chasing the target. The visitors were taking the score further, while England was taking wickets at regular wickets. After that, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon put up an unbeaten partnership of 55 runs for the ninth wicket and gave Australia a thrilling victory.
Why sucha haste? Aussie aren’t some innocent one either, its always been an aggression driven game for a lot of players and it’s just business so why make sucha big deal?

But then he said he stood by his words and said Aussie shouldn’t cry about it. Doesn’t sound accurate.

As if Aussies are saints. They just forgot what all they have done.
Though I never saw khawaja doing it.— Sankaran Baskar (@SankaranBaskar) June 23, 2023
Australians are not innocent either. Remember the McGrath incident when he bad-mouthed sarwan and lara. Michael clarke to anderson etc…,

Their is a difference between sledging and abuse. Always amazes me when things happen how both sides have different opinions. If I was to abuse your family I bet you wouldn't accept I was sledging

Props to Ollie Robinson for apologizing and owning up to his mistake. It's not easy to admit when you're wrong, but it shows character and the willingness to learn from mistakes. Check my bio bro
