Asia Cup 2023

‘Isse accha Jawan movie dekhne chala jaata’ – Fans react as India vs. Pakistan match moves to reserve day due to rain interruption

The Super 4 stage match between India and Pakistan will move to the reserve day. The Asia Cup 2023 match between the two arch-rivals will now be resumed tomorrow. As there was a constant interruption of rain in the match, there was no play possible after 4:45 PM. As a result, the fans were disappointed that the match could not happen as per the schedule.

The ground staff and officials tried their best to get the match going. But there was a consistent stoppage in the play due to rain. The play could not resume, as there were multiple spells of rain, which did not let the play happen between the two teams. There were many wet areas in the venue, particularly in the square leg and point region, which was not easy to dry.

The ground staff tried everything to dry up the surfaces. They even got special fans to dry up the surface. But as the rain entered the scene again, the officials decided to call off the match. The match will resume tomorrow with India batting at 3:00 PM. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli will continue batting for the Indian team and Shadab Khan will resume the bowling.

Rain to interrupt play on the reserve day

Even for the reserve day, there is a possibility of interruption of rain. The fans are absolutely devastated with the fact that rain has made a merry of the tournament. So far, at least three matches have been affected by rain. All of India’s matches have been affected by rain. If the reserve day of the match also gets washed out, the credibility of hosting the tournament will be questioned.

Before the interruption of rain, the Indian batters dominated the game. The opening duo of Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma scored 121 runs for the first wicket and gave the upper hand for the Indian team. While Gill scored 58 runs in 52 balls, Sharma scored 56 runs in 49 balls. The aggression of the two batters caused restlessness for Pakistani bowlers.
