‘It was blessing in disguise’ – Former WWE superstar praise Cody Rhodes’ for amazing comeback in Royal Rumble

Former WWE superstar Zack Ryder has praised Cody Rhodes for his ultimate fighting spirit and called his injury a blessing in disguise. According to Ryder, Cody Rhodes won everyone’s hearts with the impact of his passionate fight with Seth ‘Freaking’ Rollins during WrestleMania 2022.

He left rival organization AEW after six years and rejoined World Wrestling Entertainment at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. Rhodes made his long-awaited return to WWE, and at the Grandest Stage of them All, he was introduced to be Seth “Freakin” Rollins‘ mystery opponent. The Visionary and Cody Rhodes built a tremendous rivalry during the Hell in a Cell premium live event. The former TNT Champion competed at the Premium Live Event despite having a torn pec muscle.

Meanwhile, At the Sportskeeda Wrestling Awards, former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) spoke about the same. Ryder praised Cody and said that Because of his two significant comebacks in the last year, Cody won the hearts of fans. He further named him the biggest Babyface of the WWE.

“I’m going with Cody (Rhodes). I mean, he comes back at WrestleMania. Was it a surprise? Maybe not, but sometimes in wrestling, you need to give the fans what they want, and the fans knew he was coming, and they were happy for his return. And unfortunately, he went down and was sidelined at Hell in a Cell. But I think that was almost a blessing in disguise because this man had two comebacks in one calendar year,” Cardona said.

“Fans are the real supporter”, says Matt Cardona

In the same discussion, Matt Cardona further claimed that Rhodes’ status as the year’s top babyface stems from the support of the audience. “You know, he comes back at WrestleMania, comes back at Royal Rumble, and now hopefully wins the big one and finishes the story at WrestleMania this year.

“So definitely, Cody and the fans are behind it. You can’t deny that; the merchandise sales prove that, and the crowd response proves that. So I’m proud of Cody,” he added. Notably, Cody Rhodes is set to participate in the upcoming WrestleMania 39 after winning Royal Rumble earlier this year.
