‘Itta sach bhi nhi bolna tha’ – Fans react as Ravindra Jadeja comes up with ‘They wait for me to get out’ after CSK thrashed DC in IPL 2023
In the 55th match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Chennai Super Kings beat Delhi Capitals by 27 runs at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Producing yet another clinical performance, CSK outplayed DC in every aspect of the game. While batting first, CSK scored 167/8 in 20 overs and stopped DC for 140/8. Notably, allrounder Ravindra Jadeja performed exceptionally for CSK as he picked up a wicket and scored 21 runs off 16 balls with the bat too.
Jadeja was the Player of the Match for his amazing all-round performance. The start allrounder is having a great time with both bat and ball since coming back from injury. However, after the game, Jadeja expressed his pain and said that if he comes to bat ahead of MS Dhoni fans wish him to get out. He said, “As a spinner, feels good when the ball is turning and holding. We practise here, we know what’s the ideal length and pace. The visiting team needs time to adapt. We are taking advantage of the home conditions.”
“Everyone’s doing their job. We are doing a good job collectively. (On batting higher) I keep hearing Mahi bhai’s chants. If I bat higher, then the crowd will wait for me to get out. As long as the team wins, I am happy”, he further added. Notably, on Wednesday Jadeja and Dhoni added 36 runs off 18 balls for the seventh wicket.
MS Dhoni’s cameo helped us: CSK head coach Stephen Fleming
Speaking about the game, fans were delighted to watch glimpses of vintage MS Dhoni. While batting first, Dhoni came to bat at number 8 and played some delightful strokes. He scored 20 runs in 9 balls with the help of one boundary and two sixes before getting dismissed by Mitchell Marsh. With his impactful innings, CSK posted a competitive total of 167/8 at the slow pitch of Chepauk.
After winning the game, CSK coach Stephen Fleming came to address the press conference. He spoke about many things and also praised Dhoni for his cameos. Speaking about his fitness, Fleming said, “He knows he’s not going to bat for a long time, and we had a lot of batting ahead. So, he has concentrated on the last three overs. [He] wasn’t as mobile between the wickets today, but he pushed pretty hard.”
“So, he has concentrated on pretty strong hitting practice, and you can see the benefits of that. He is just comfortable being able to play around the ground. We know how good a hitter of the ball he is, and his access in certain areas is still very strong. So that cameo again at the end was valuable in a hard-fought 20 overs”, he further added.
Here is how fans react to Ravindra Jadeja’s statement:
