The England cricket team posted 302/7 on Day 1 of the fourth Test match against India on February 23 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Notably, Joe Root was the star of the game as he went on to hammer 106 runs from 226 balls, featuring nine boundaries to help England stand in the dominant position.

Speaking about the game here, it was England skipper Ben Stokes who had won the toss and invited the hosts to field first in the game. Notably, after being opted to bat first, the side had posted 302/7 before the stumps. Star batter Zak Crawley hammered 42 runs from 42 balls, while star opening batter Ben Duckett made 11 runs from 21 balls.

However, Olive Pope was dismissed for just one run, but great batter Joe Root helped England bounce back into the squad. However, wicketkeeper batter Jonny Bairstow also made 38 runs from 35 balls, while skipper Ben Stokes was dismissed for just three runs in the game. Later, Ben Foakes also hammered 47 runs, while Tom Hartley made 13 runs.

Ollie Robinson, who is playing his first Test match after Ashes 2023, went on to hammer unbeaten 31 runs from 60 balls, featuring four boundaries and one six. Meanwhile, Bengal bowler Aakash Deep made his stunning debut as the star pacer went on to pick up three wickets on Day 1 of the fourth Test game and somehow put the visiting sides under pressure.

“I wasn’t nervous, had spoken with my coaches, so I wasn’t tense ahead of the game. I don’t know how it happened, but I used to take every game as my last game and tried my best.
