Because of his ligament injury, Jonny Bairstow is currently out of the run to make it to the England team. Injured in September 2022, he was unable to participate in the 20-20 World Cup. When Bairstow slipped on a golf course, he injured his ligament. He also missed the Test series in Pakistan and New Zealand after the World Cup.

According to recent rumours, the Punjab franchise’s deadly English wicketkeeper batter may miss the forthcoming Indian T20 League. If he chooses to not show up for the franchise, it will be a major loss. His powerful hitting skills at the top of the order may be extremely important for any franchise.

Jonny Bairstow has 23 International centuries

For the Punjab franchise, the 33-year-old had a good season last year. He scored only 253 runs at an average of 23 in the 11 games he played. Although Bairstow also hit two 50s in that season, his strike rate was 144.57. Punjab earned 14 points from 14 games to finish sixth last season. While Mayank Agarwal was the captain, the team let the Indian player depart this year. Shikhar Dhawan has thus been chosen to lead the team moving forward.

The last time he represented England was in the Test series against South Africa in England. He performed well in the ODI and T20I series against the same opposition, scoring 67 runs in three innings. While making 91 runs in two ODI innings, Bairstow scored 147 runs in the three-match T20I series.

Bairstow has so far participated in 250 international games and amassed 10453 runs in all three forms. Along with 46 fifty-sixes, he has hit 23 centuries. The news that he would miss the forthcoming edition upset the Punjab franchise. If he finally misses the entire tournament, the team might look for a replacement. Yet, no official statement has been made about it on social media.
