Kevin Pietersen’s playful reaction to Anushka Sharma’s heartfelt Instagram post dedicated to Virat Kohli.

On November 5, Virat Kohli, the renowned Indian cricketer and former captain, turned 35 years old. To commemorate this special day, his spouse took to Instagram and posted a picture of a youthful Virat Kohli, demonstrating his prowess as a bowler. The star batter even celebrated it with a brilliant 49th ODI century equally the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

In the caption, she conveyed her deep admiration for Kohli’s outstanding talents in various facets of his life and commended his ongoing accomplishments. She also professed her profound love for him, emphasizing that her affection transcends this existence and endures in any conceivable form. In her post, Anushka Sharma also brought up an unusual record associated with Kohli in T20 Internationals. She noted that back in 2011, he dismissed England’s Kevin Pietersen with a wide ball, making him the sole bowler to claim a wicket on the ‘zeroth’ delivery of his T20I career.

“He is literally EXCEPTIONAL in every role in his life! But somehow continues to add more feathers to his glorious hat. I love YOUUU through this life and beyond and endlessly so, in every shape, form, through it all, whatever it may be so,” she wrote in her caption.

India scored a fighting 326 runs on a tough batting pitch

After winning the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma chose to bat first on a pitch expected to become slower as the game progressed. The opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made an impressive start for India, reaching a 50-run partnership in just the fifth over. However, it was Kagiso Rabada from the Proteas who managed to break this partnership by dismissing Rohit, who had been playing brilliantly and had scored 40 runs off just 24 deliveries.

Following Rohit’s dismissal, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli teamed up, aiming to build a strong partnership. Unfortunately, their efforts were cut short by a fantastic delivery from Keshav Maharaj, which sent Gill (23) back to the pavilion. With the pitch becoming slower, Kohli and Shreyas Iyer managed to put together a well-constructed partnership of 134 runs. However, in an attempt to increase the scoring rate, Iyer was bowled out by Lungi Ngidi after contributing a well-made 77 runs. Late contributions from Suryakumar Yadav (22) and Ravindra Jadeja (29) proved valuable as India reached a total of 326 runs.
