‘Khaali practice match main chalega’ – Fans react to Michael Bracewell scoring a ton in Bangalore’s practice match

The 16th season of the Indian T20 League is set to begin today with defending champions Gujarat taking on four-time winners Chennai in a mouth-watering contest. Bangalore begin another season as contenders for the title but only time will tell if they can challenge the other teams for the title.

Bangalore have a great squad and have made some key additions to their squad and didn’t do a revamp of their squad like some franchises. They have added quality players like Reece Topley who can come in handy now as Josh Hazelwood continues to struggle with an injury.

Another one of the stars of the Bangalore squad is New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell who has been tearing it up in  all formats of the game for his country. He was announced as a replacement for the English all-rounder Will Jacks who was ruled out of the squad due to injury. Bracewell will be looking to make the most of this unprecedented opportunity and make a name for himself in the biggest T20 league.

How did the intra-squad match pan out for the Bangalore franchise?

According to various reports that are doing rounds on social media, the hard-hitting all-rounder Bracewell scored a century in the practice match. He scored 105 runs off just 55 balls while chasing a mammoth total that was put in front of him and his team. His amazing innings included 8 fours and 7 sixes on his way to the milestone.

Other important players like Glenn Maxwell made their presence known as they scored a brilliant 78* off just 48 balls and finished the innings off for his side. The Australian batting-allrounder is looking in great touch following the freak injury which kept him out of action for a brief period.

But even the century from Bracewell wasn’t enough for Bracewell and his side to get them over the line. Suyash Prabhudesai who was the captain of the side, won the match by 2 runs in a high-scoring thriller at the Chinnaswamy. Such a game was important for the players and the coaches and would help the team a lot going forward in the tournament.
