‘Khichdi favourite food aaj se’- Fans react as Virendra Sehwag reveals what MS Dhoni ate during 2011 World Cup

The Cricket Governing Body and Indian Cricket Board have released the much-anticipated schedule for the Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. The ODI spectacular will begin on October 5 in Ahmedabad with a match between defending champions England and 2019 runners-up New Zealand. The tournament will last more than a month and will finish on November 19 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

With India once again hosting the World Cup, following the 2011 World Cup, supporters anticipate that the Men in Blue will regain the trophy on home soil. India won the championship in its own backyard in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. It became the first side in the event’s history to do so.

Everyone was having some or the other superstition: Virendra Sehwag

On the day of the unveiling of the 2023 World Cup schedule on Star Sports, the former India opener Virender Sehwag made a surprising disclosure regarding Dhoni. He said, “Everyone was having some or the other superstition, and everyone was following theirs. MS Dhoni had a superstition of having ‘khichdi’ all through the World Cup,” said Sehwag. “He used to say that even if I’m not scoring runs but this superstition is working, and we’re winning matches.”

The Cricket World Cup ever will include ten nations and will be played across ten sites from October 5 to November 19, with the tournament opening and final taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune are the other nine venues.

The practice games will be held in Guwahati, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram. Defending champions England will meet New Zealand in a much-anticipated showdown between the 2019 World Cup finals in Ahmedabad, while hosts India will face five-time World Cup winners Australia in Chennai on October 8. The Indian Team have been criticized for failing to win a major trophy since the Champions Trophy success in 2013 under Dhoni’s guidance. India will be the favourites entering the upcoming World Cup.
