A video of a brawl between cricket fanatics during the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) game during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 clash has been doing rounds on social media. On Saturday, the 40th game of the IPL 2023 was played between DC and SRH at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The doubleheader’s second game saw Hyderabad defeat Delhi by nine runs in a close encounter from start to finish. 

Speaking of the game, SRH won the toss and elected to bat first. Abhishek Sharma (67 off 36) as well as Heinrich Klaasen (53* of 27) both scored half-centuries to help SRH reach a respectable total. As a result of Philip Salt’s amazing 59 off 35 balls as well as Mitchell Marsh’s all-round displays of 63 off 39 with the bat, DC were well-positioned at 112/1 in the chase.

But it took Mayank Markande an outstanding return catch to get rid of Salt. After then, the Delhi Capitals’ momentum was broken and were only able to manage 188/6. Despite his team’s defeat, Delhi Capitals all-arounder Mitchell Marsh was voted Player of the Match. He responded with numbers of 4/27 on the ball before tallying a fifty as he kept his side in the chase.

Aiden Markram spoke about how his team showed great temperament and skill at the right moments. He said, “Great team effort. Good to see the guys show good skills and character. I don’t mind getting things wrong if the approach is right. It helps to see such performances, the guys will see that results are there to be had. Credit to the way the team has responded.”

The skipper then discussed the top performers of the match for his side. He said, “Klassy [Heinrich Klaasen] has been in great form, and Abhishek did the hard work early on. Klassy backs himself to play that way, good to see it pay off. We needed wickets to get back in the game, and it needed a special catch from Mayank [Markande]. Fortunately, the ball was stopping a bit and the bowlers showed great character to execute their spoils.”
