Australia’s star cricketer, Mitchell Starc, is all set to make his return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Notably, the star pacer was one of the notable omissions from the past eight years of the IPL. In addition, the left-arm pacer has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014 and 2015, scalping 34 wickets in 27 matches. Meanwhile, Australia’s bowler was picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018, but the star seamer withdrew his name as he prefers to give his international cricket priority over the IPL.

Mitchell Starc has confirmed that he will be back in the next year of the IPL in one of his recent interviews. In addition, the 33-year-old cricketer affirms that it will be a perfect opportunity to put his name in the next IPL owing to the next T20I World Cup, which is all set to take place in 2024 in the West Indies and USA shortly after the completion of the IPL.

So a good opportunity to see if anyone’s interested in the IPL: Mitchell Starc

“Look it’s been eight years. I’m definitely going back in [next] year. Amongst other things, it’s a great lead-up to the T20 World Cup. So a good opportunity to see if anyone’s interested in the IPL, then lead into the T20 World Cup. And it is somewhat of a quiet winter next year…in comparison to this winter, so I think a perfect opportunity to put my name in,” Mitchell Starc told the Willow Talk Cricket Podcast about his IPL ambitions as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Meanwhile, the left-arm pacer has appeared in 82 matches for Australia. The star cricketer wishes to play good cricket to complete 100 Test matches for his side. “Not just get to 100, I would like to be good enough to be picked for 100 Tests. And then the big one obviously in a couple of weeks is the World Cup, which in India just goes to another level,” he added further.
