‘Kya bekaar gyan c**d raha hai’ – Fans troll Ravindra Jadeja as his cryptic tweet goes viral on social media

Minutes after the team’s triumph in the second one-day international of the three-match series between India and Sri Lanka on Thursday (January 12) at the Eden Gardens, Ravindra Jadeja sent a mysterious tweet that perplexed Indian fans. Jadeja has been sidelined since September due to a knee injury sustained during the 2022 Asia Cup.

“Don’t say anything. Just smile,” wrote Jadeja on Twitter. The star all-rounder underwent surgery in September and was forced to withdraw from India’s bid for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The squad really missed him because it was challenging to replace the all-around balance he brings.

The Indian Cricket Board has not provided any information regarding Jadeja’s return date or an update regarding his ailment. Jadeja was selected for both India’s ODI and Test lineups for their December trip to Bangladesh, however, he was ultimately ruled unfit to participate in either format.

The Indian selection for the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka did not include Jadeja either. His inclusion in the team for the forthcoming home white-ball series against New Zealand is also uncertain.

Before the Border Gavaskar Test series against Australia, Team India would be extremely concerned about Jadeja’s persistent absence. Both his bowling and his batting are crucial for India’s red-ball team, making Jadeja an indispensable player. His left-arm spin bowling only served to elevate his status at home.

Despite the captaincy controversy from a year ago, Jadeja will continue to play for the Chennai franchise in the 2023 Indian T20 League. In spite of rumours that he wanted to quit the team, the four-time champions decided to keep Jadeja after the 2023 auction. Since 2012, Jadeja has been a member of the Chennai-based franchise team.

India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is also looking forward to reuniting with his Test partner in the home Test series, India’s last in the 2021/23 World Test Championship cycle.

“I’m expecting (Ravindra) Jadeja to come through. I have started my training. I have been dreaming (about the series) and I’ve been doing some yoga. I’ve been religiously doing yoga over the last year or so. I think it’s just helped me feel much better. (As for the skills) I’ve definitely put in a lot of work on my batting. My batting has really been upscale over the last 18 months or so. I put in a lot of work whenever a home series happens,” he told The New Indian Express.
