We spoke about putting New Zealand under pressure: Ben Stokes

Meanwhile, England star batter Ben Stokes received the Player of the Match award and was pleased with his dynamic performance. In addition, the great batter revealed his plans for putting the Kiwis under pressure once they get quick wickets during the play. The southpaw also heaped praise on David Malan, who forged a great partnership with him but missed achieving the milestone. Notably, the great all-rounder made the comparison between Test matches and ODIs.

“Really pleased. We spoke about putting New Zealand under pressure and get to a good start and even after losing those early wickets, we wanted to be positive. As experienced players, we need to guide the younger players. He (Malan) is a very consistent player, he is a very quality player, rotates the strike very well as well and missed out on the milestone after getting a strangle down leg. I’m feeling much better, Tests matches are a bit longer but ODIs surely are not that demanding,” Ben Stokes said during post match presentation.
