‘Kya form mai hai ye toh’ – Fans react as Wanindu Hasaranga guides B-Love Kandy to 34-run win against Galle Titans during LPL 2023 qualifier 2

The stage is all set for the final match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 between Dambulla Aura and B-Love Kandy. Notably, Dambulla Aura defeated the Galle Titans during qualifier 1 to seal the spot in the final, whereas B-Love Kandy defeated the Galle Titans by 34 runs during qualifier 2 to lock horns against Aura for the final match that is slated to take place on August 20 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Earlier in the match, B-Love Kandy skipper Wanindu Hasaranga won the toss and invited the Titans to the field first.

Notably, after opting to bat first, Kandy posted 157/7 in the given 20 overs owing to the magnificent knock from Kandy skipper Hasaranga, who hammered 48 runs in 30 balls, featuring three boundaries and four sixes. Later, while chasing, the Dasun Shanaka-led side could only rack up 123 runs and fell short by 34 runs, which knocked them out of the tournament.

Meanwhile, following the win in Qualifier 2, B-Love Kandy skipper Wanindu Hasaranga expressed happiness. Notably, the 26-year-old cricketer said Nuwan Pradeep may play in the final match after missing Qualifier 2. In addition, the star all-rounder always believed in his abilities, which always brought out the best in him. Moreover, the right-handed batter also thanked the support staff and players who have contributed to the team. Furthermore, the Galle-born cricketer seems optimistic ahead of the final match.

“Maybe Nuwan Pradeep will field tomorrow. We already miss Udana and Chameera. I am confident and I am actually fit to play tomorrow. I know what I can do with my bat. I always try to do my best whenever I play. I am having fun in the middle. Credit should go to the support staff and the players, they have contributed very well to the side and they have helped me,” Player of the Match and Kandy captain, Wanindu Hasaranga said during post-match presentation.
