‘Kya matlab MI smajh ke CSK ko pel diya’ – Fans react as Sai Sudarshan smashes brilliant 96-run knock in IPL finals against CSK

After 59 days and 73 games, Indian Premier League is finally here to get a winner on May 29th. In the final match, Chennai Super Kings are facing Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Batting first, defending champions have posted a competitive total of 214/4 in 20 overs, thanks to brilliant half-centuries from Sai Sudarshan and Wriddhiman Saha.

Earlier, after winning the toss, CSK skipper MS Dhoni called GT to bat first. The decision didn’t go well with the four-time champions as GT openers Saha and Shubman Gill added 67 runs for the first wicket. Gill, in his innings, scored 39 runs off 20 balls with the help of seven boundaries before getting dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. After his departure, Saha, along with Sai Sudarshan, added 68 runs for the second wicket.

Saha scored 54 runs off 39 balls with the help of five boundaries and a six. In the end, Sai Sudarshan along with Hardik Pandya added 81 runs for the third wicket. Sudarshan, in his career-best innings, scored 96 runs off 47 balls with the help of eight boundaries and six maximums. This is the highest score by any Indian in IPL finals, and this is also the highest team score in the IPL finals.

Matheesha Pathirna clinched two wickets in the last over.

For Chennai, Super Kings Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirna was the best bowler. He clinched two wickets of Sai Sudarshan and Rashid Khan in the last over of the first innings. Apart from him, Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar clinched a wicket each of Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha respectively. Notably, CSK needs to chase a massive target and also needs to keep DLS Method in mind due to rain.

The second innings didn’t start on time due to heavy rainfall and it was stopped in between when Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad were taking on Mohammed Shami in the first over. CSK have scored 4 runs without losing a wicket in 0.3 overs. We have a cut-off time of 11:56 PM before losing any over.
