After losing the first match by eight wickets against Royals Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 12th fixture of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, April 8 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

This fixture is also known as the El-Classico of IPL as these two teams are the most successful franchises of the cash-rich league. Mumbai has clinched the title five times (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020), and, on the other hand, Chennai has won the trophy four times (2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021).

While doing the match preview of the MI Vs CSK clash, former India opener, Aakash Chopra asserted that Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green will contribute effectively with the bat.

Jofra and Chahar will together pick up three or more wicket: Aakash Chopra

“Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green will together score 65 or more runs. There is bounce and pace on this pitch, and help for the fast bowlers. We did see India win the match against Australia here, but the fast bowlers showed their charisma. So I am expecting more help for the fast bowlers once again,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.

“Jofra and Chahar will together pick up three or more wickets. Deepak Chahar has had an extremely ordinary tournament thus far, but it will not remain so. This is the surface that will bring the best out of him. So I am saying he will pick up at least one or two wickets,” the right-hand batter stated on wicket-takers in the El-Classico fixture.

“Jofra Archer will also like this pitch a lot. Get him to bowl with the new ball here because it will be necessary to dismiss at least one of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad at the start. You can bowl bouncers to Ruturaj,” the 45-year-old added.

“10 or more sixes should be hit. We come here with the expectation of a high-scoring encounter. You definitely see a chasing bias at the Wankhede. Whoever wins the toss will bowl. Having said that, I think sixes should be hit,” said Chopra regarding the number of maximums in the IPL game. “I am saying that Mumbai will finally open their account,” the former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener concluded.

If we talked about the encounter, the Super Kings went on to win the fixture by seven wickets and star India all-rounder was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling performance. He snapped three wickets in his spell of four overs where he conceded 20 runs in his spell.
