Lionel Messi posts heartfelt message for Neymar after his horrific injury

Neymar was recently injured during Brazil’s loss to Uruguay in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers. The 31-year-old left the field in tears as he was carried away at the end of the 1st half.

Brazil had lost the game 2-0 to share their second spot along with Uruguay. For the record, Argentina leads the table with 12 points from 4 games. Lionel Messi is a close friend of Neymar after their time together at FC Barcelona.

The 36-year-old Argentine took to social media to post a message for Neymar in a bid to extend support. Neymar is set to miss action for a while after his horrific injury and is set to miss playing in India.

Neymar’s former FC Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi took to Social media and posted a message for the Brazilian. The 36-year-old posted a picture of himself with Neymar with the message “lots of strength”

Neymar is currently playing for AL Hilal FC while Messi is playing with Inter Miami FC. Both have played together for a long spell at FC Barcelona as well as Paris Saint Germain. The Brazilian is still the costliest player to be bought with his valuation of 200 million.

AL Hilal FC has come out and announced that Neymar is set for surgery after he hurt his ACL. There is also damage to the meniscus and this is set to rule the 31-year-old out for a long time.

Mumbai City FC is set to take on AL–Hilal FC in the AFC Champions League. This news will leave the Indian football fans sad as they wanted to see Neymar up close and personal. There was a lot of excitement building for Neymar possibly playing for the first time in Mumbai.

Lionel Messi and his Argentina side are the defending champions after having beaten France in a penalty shootout. It was widely believed that the tournament hosted by Qatar in 2022 would be his last. Messi though has defied age and continued to play for his national side. The next World Cup in 2026 is set to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
