‘ Mamla kaafi Gambhir lagta hai’ – Fans go berserk as Rajat Sharma fires indirect shots at Gautam Gambhir post Virat Kohli’s 100 against SRH

Renowned Indian journalist erupted into controversy after he indirectly trolled Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Gautam Gambhir while praising Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli for his match-winning knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match number 65 of IPL 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Kohli smashed his sixth IPL ton in a must-win encounter for RCB. The 34-year-old got out after scoring 100 runs off 63 balls as RCB chased 187 runs against SRH in 19.2 overs losing 2 wickets. After the match, Rajat Sharma took to Twitter to heap praise on Kohli for his splendid knock. After that, he also threw an indirect punch at Gambhir by calling him ‘somebody’ and claiming that he may not be happy with this knock. “Magnificent 100 by Virat. It was a delight to watch. Of course, somebody somewhere may not be happy 😜@imVkohli,” Sharma wrote on his Twitter.

It is noted that both Kohli and Gambhir were engaged in a verbal spat with each other after RCB defeated LSG by 18 runs at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on May 1st. It all started when Kohli got involved in a heated banter with Naveen-ul-Haq during the match and also showed his shoe to the LSG player. After the match, Gambhir reportedly came to support his player and engaged in a heated conversation with the RCB batter.

‘Gambhir’s ego has increased even more’ – Rajat Sharma

After that, there has been a difference of opinions among the cricketing fraternity and everyone had their own take for the matter. Between all these, Rajat Sharma also shared his opinion on this during his Live show on India TV and slammed Gambhir for the fight. He said that Gambhir is jealous of Kohli’s popularity.

“Gambhir has been provoked. After fighting the elections and becoming a Member of the Parliament, Gambhir’s ego has increased even more. How Virat Kohli’s popularity worries Gambhir was witnessed yet again, clearly on the ground. Kohli is a player who is always aggressive, doesn’t tolerate any nonsense and so he gave Gambhir an apt reply.” Rajat said on Live show.

Gambhir also came up with a befitting reply to the Ex- Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) without saying his name as he took to Twitter alleging that he ran away from Delhi Cricket to sell ‘Paid PR. ’ “Man who ran away from Delhi Cricket citing “pressure” seems over-eager to sell paid PR as concern for cricket! यही कलयुग़ है जहां ‘भगोड़े’ अपनी ‘अदालत’ चलाते हैं।” Gambhir wrote on his Twitter.
