Team India and South Africa are all set to end the year 2023 with an intense Test match that began on December 26 at Centurion. Notably, Team India had a hard day on the opening day of the first Test due to an extra bounced pitch, which put the visiting side in trouble. However, the hosts have enjoyed the game owing to a 5-wicket haul by Rabada.

Speaking about the game, South African skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and invited India to bat first. Notably, after being sent to bat first, India’s openers Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill departed very quickly as the top order crumbled for 24/3. However, India’s batters, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, scored 68 runs together to boost their camp.

However, India’s wicketkeeper batter, KL Rahul, took responsibility and batted brilliantly at number six to make sure India had some decent runs at the end of the opening game. The stylish right-handed batter hammered unbeaten 70 runs from 105 balls, featuring 10 boundaries and two sixes to help India place in a commanding position.
